Environmental Policy Statement
FloorFit™ as a provider, installer, and fitter of hardwood flooring is acutely aware of the volume and demand for hardwood flooring by customers in our areas of operation. As a socially responsible and environmentally conscious company, we seek to limit the damage done to the environment by our actions during the course of our work.
The damage done to the rainforests of South America and Asia by illegal logging, ´slash and burn´ agricultural methods, and the illegal trade in hardwoods, has not only caused ecological damage at the local level in those environments, with threats to environmental sustainability and biodiversity. It has also contributed greatly to the phenomenon of ´global warming´, which threatens the existence of life on Earth.
As a responsible company, and as human beings, the Directors and staff of FloorFit™ take these threats to the environment very seriously, and it is with this in mind that we have set out the following environmental policy objectives:
1. FloorFit™ will not knowingly source hardwood flooring from suppliers in South America and Asia for installation and fitting in our customer premises, unless it can be proved that it comes from an environmentally sustainable source.
2. All hardwood flooring supplied by FloorFit™ for installation and fitting in a customer premises will be sourced from environmentally sustainable sources or sources which do not damage the environment.
3. FloorFit™ will actively dissuade customers from purchasing hardwood flooring from supplier and resellers that source hardwood flooring from suppliers in South America and Asia, unless it can be proved that it comes from an environmentally sustainable source.
4. FloorFit™ will actively work to promote knowledge and awareness of the dangers to the environment of illegal logging, ´slash and burn´ agricultural methods, and the illegal trade in hardwoods, and their threat to environmental sustainability and biodiversity, and existence of life on Earth.
